Obsessing over Tutus

I’ve emptied my living room, laid out plastic tarps and the room is now filled with tutus – painted of course.  My latest obsession.  Yes, I am an A.D.D painter.  Too many ideas, not enough personalities.  Guess I should have taken those dance lessons.  Piano didn’t work out but I think I would have loved wearing a tutu.  Don’t quote me but I may stick with this for a while.  Hope you like them.  I’ll be posting photos soon!

Oil Painting News

Well, I recently finished a week long intensive oil painting studio with Chris Flodberg so guess what?  Back to the studio now that I’ve survived Stampede and Menage and it’s oil painting for me!  I can’t wait to put the incredible and why didn’t they teach me this in art school? techniques to practice.  I’ll be posting my new work as soon as it is painted.  Guess that means I’d better stop blogging and get to the studio. Bloomers and Ruffles

I’m having a ball painting figures wearing bloomers and ruffles.  These are inspired by my visit to Texas.  The women at the flea shop in fun outfits from bloomers to over the top jewellery and boots!  I have many of these paintings showing at Annie’s Cafe in Fish Creek Provincial Park.  Ride by on the bike trail and stop in for ice cream.  You’ll love it!

Bissett Art Gallery – Mount Royal University

Our group show, chroma code,  will be coming down next Friday March 11 – stop by if you haven’t been able to.  The gallery is in the Bissett School of Business on the second floor.  It’s a very colourful display of artwork from myself, Melanie Morstad and Jill Hobson.  It will get you thinking about spring, guaranteed!
